Ukraine has one of the highest numbers of women in the Armed Forces compared to NATO member states

There are more than 50,000 women in the Ukrainian army, 38,000 of which are service people, the Deputy Minister of Defence Hanna Maliar reported.

From February 24, 2022, 7,000 women joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. More than 5,000 women currently serve on the frontlines. According to Maliar, Ukraine has one of the highest numbers of women in the Armed Forces compared to NATO member states.
