“Ukraine is an independent, free, indivisible state. And it will always be that way”

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, addressed the Ukrainians on the occasion of Ukrainian Statehood Day: “It’s been a restless morning. Rocket terror again. We’re not giving up. Let’s not give up. We cannot be intimidated. Ukraine is an independent, free, indivisible state. And it will always be that way.”
“The great people of a great country and a great state, that has existed on this land since ancient times, that many people have tried many times to enslave and destroy. And that has not allowed this to be done, by anyone, from ancient times — never,” said Zelenskyy.
The president emphasized that Ukrainian statehood is not 30 years old but dates back thousands of years.
“State, where the history of Christianity in Eastern Europe began when it was baptized 1034 years ago by Volodymyr, the Great Prince of Kyiv. The state where the history of indomitability began, now spreads over all of Europe and the world beyond it. This is our state, this is our country, this is Ukraine. The history of its statehood goes back thousands of years, but only this year we do celebrate, for the first time, the Day of Ukrainian Statehood,” he stressed.
