“Ukraine is fighting not only for its own country but for the whole world” Lithuanian pianist Darius Mazintas performed in front of the ruined House of Culture in Irpin

Lithuanian pianist Darius Mazintas, Artistic Director of Looking at the Stars Canadian Foundation performed Chopin’s Nocturnes in front of the ruined House of Culture in Irpin, Kyiv region. The city was severely damaged by Russian troops.

“Music that is played in the halls for fun is not all that can be done with it. Music is an energy that helps people… That’s why I don’t want to play in the halls right now. I want to play in places where they don’t expect it…. Our heart is with Ukraine… I love Ukraine. It is fighting not only for its country but for the whole world,” Mazintas said. His performance was organized to draw attention to atrocities committed by the Russian military in Ukraine.
