Ukraine leads 2022 Google search trends in the news category

Ukraine topped the 2022 list of trending news topics, according to Google. Also, it took third place in the general “searches” category.

Along with the word “Ukraine,” users searched for the words “human loss,” “donations,” and “refugees.” The peak of the search for news about Ukraine has been from February 20 to March 5, 2022.

In the US, users were specifically looking for ways to help people in Ukraine. Top-3 trending “How to help” searches included “How to help Ukraine?” “How to help Ukrainian refugees?” and “How to help Ukraine army?”
