Ukraine liberated the key town of Kupiansk in Kharkiv region as the counter-offensive continues

Ukrainian forces continue to make rapid advances in the northeast of the country. On September 10, 2022, the Ukrainian army liberated the strategically important town of Kupiansk in Kharkiv region, as confirmed by the Security Service of Ukraine. Analysts say that Kupiansk is a particularly important logistical hub for Russian forces in the east of Ukraine.

US-based thinktank The Institute for the Study of War has described the city as Russia’s “key logistical node” in the region, adding that its recapture would “severely degrade” Russian ground lines of communication.
