“Ukraine needs more military equipment, above all heavy weapons” Annalena Baerbock, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said that daily reports and pictures of atrocities in Ukraine make it all the more urgent to send additional equipment to help the nation fend off Russian aggression.

“What is clear is that Ukraine needs more military equipment, above all heavy weapons,” Baerbock told reporters before talks with EU counterparts in Luxembourg. “Now is not the time for excuses, now is the time for creativity and pragmatism.”

On Monday, April 11, 2022, foreign ministers arrived for an EU meeting in Luxembourg to discuss proposals for an oil embargo on Russia.
