Ukraine predicts the 2022 grain harvest dropping about 40%

The war will cut Ukraine’s grain harvest to as little as 48 million tons, from 84 million tons a year ago, as the country has lost about a quarter of its farming area, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotskyi said. According to him, the war prevented sowing and harvesting, which could have increased the expected grain crop by at least 20 million tons.
