Ukraine received nearly 1,500 tonnes of equipment from Poland to restore energy infrastructure
Since May 2022, Ukraine has received 80 shipments of humanitarian aid for the energy sector from Poland, i.e., around 1,500 tonnes of equipment. In the last week alone, 12 cargoes weighing 174 tonnes have arrived. The equipment provided includes generators, transformers, insulators, reinforced concrete poles, electric cables, as well as emergency power supply systems, disconnectors, and other materials needed for repairs.
“Poland is not only a partner but one of Ukraine’s biggest friends, as it has been providing us with comprehensive support since the first days of the full-scale war. All types of materials supplied by Polish partners are being used by Ukrainian power engineers to restore the facilities affected by Russian attacks as quickly as possible. The work of the rescEU logistics hub in Poland, which accumulates humanitarian aid from all over Europe and quickly delivers it to Ukraine, is very important. We are grateful to Poland for this support,” said Ukraine’s Minister of Energy German Galushchenko.
