Ukraine welcomes the IAEA mission’s arrival at four Ukrainian NPPs

The IAEA missions’ actions at all Ukrainian nuclear power plants will allow them to assess the threat to nuclear safety and contribute to its improvement at nuclear facilities regarding the ongoing Russian aggressor strikes, as declared by Ukraine’s Minister of Energy, Herman Galushchenko, citing the website of the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy.

“We applaud the initiation of IAEA missions at Ukraine’s other four nuclear power plants. The presence of international agency officials at all Ukrainian nuclear power facilities will allow them to analyze all of the dangers and threats to nuclear and radiation safety that Russia’s military actions entail,” the minister stressed.

Galushchenko stated that Russia has been attacking Ukrainian energy facilities for over three months. During one of them, a system failure occurred that caused a simultaneous emergency shutdown of all Ukrainian nuclear power facilities.
