Ukraine’s air force shoots down 34 cruise missiles overnight

On the night of Mar. 9, 2023, Russian troops fired 81 missiles of various types at Ukraine, Ukraine’s air force reports. Among the weapons used by Russia are cruise missiles, aircraft missiles, drones and S-300 systems.

Ukraine’s air force destroyed 34 cruise missiles out of 48, as well as 4 Shahed UAVs.

“As a result of organized countermeasures, 8 Kh-31P and Kh-59 guided air missiles did not reach their targets. It is worth noting that the armed forces of Ukraine do not have means capable of destroying Kh-22 and Kh-47 ‘Kinzhal’ and S-300,” the statement reads.
