Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief donates inherited $1 million to Ukrainian army
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi received an inheritance of US$1 million from an American of Ukrainian origin, Hryhorii Stepanets, which he then donated in its entirety to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, The New York Times reports. This information was confirmed by the AFU at Ukrainska Pravda’s request.
“I gave my whole life to the Armed Forces. And I did not have a single doubt about what to do with the inheritance. Mr. Hryhorii’s last will was obviously to support the Ukrainian army through me. I am grateful to everyone who helps the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And I am grateful to my family for their understanding.” — Valerii Zaluzhnyi in commentary for Ukrainska Pravda.
