Ukraine’s customs revenues have fallen by 80% due to the war

Daily revenues of Ukrainian customs have been at 15-20% of the pre-war level, hence, losses have reached up to 80%, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko estimated.
“We expect from the customs [to the budget] about UAH 7 billion ($239 million) by the end of the month. Although other things being equal, i.e. pre-war, our plans were a little different. Customs were to collect this month [March] almost UAH 39 billion ($1.3 billion),” Marchenko said.
The largest customs offices in Ukraine – in Kyiv, Odesa, eastern and northern customs – haven’t been working due to the war. Only the customs clearance on the western border has been carried out.
