Ukraine’s inflation exceeded 16% in April 2022

Since April last year, inflation in the consumer market has reached 16.4% in April 2022, and since the beginning of the year, growth has occurred by 10.9%, stated the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
Food prices have risen the most in a year — by 23.1%. The following items increased the most in prices year-on-year:
- vegetables by 67.2%,
- oil by 23.9%
- fruits by 23.5%,
- bread and bakery products by 26.3%.
For the year, prices have risen for housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels. For example, compared to April last year, the gas price increased by 26.7%.
