Ukraine’s largest Kremenchuk oil refinery will not be operational until at least the end of 2022

The Kremenchuk oil refinery, destroyed by the Russian invaders, will not be operational, at least until the end of the year, said the Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Dmytro Lunin.

Now, the main task is to resume the work of the Kremenchuk refinery. “There is no property damage act on the refinery yet. But the preliminary amount [of the cost of its reconstruction] is UAH 500-800 million [about $17-27 million]. We informed the Office of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers about this… The regional council can provide UAH 30-50 million [$1-1.7 million], plus the city will add, and there is a private investor… Altogether, we have to revive the refinery,” Lunin said.

The Kremenchuk oil refinery is the largest one in Ukraine, with a design capacity of 18.6 million tons. 43.05% of the shares belong to the National Joint Stock Company “Naftogaz of Ukraine,” and the rest is divided between businessmen Igor Kolomoisky and Oleksandr Yaroslavsky.
