Ukraine’s President posthumously awarded painter Maria Prymachenko with the “National Legend of Ukraine” title
Ukrainian artist Maria Prymachenko had been posthumously awarded the title of National Legend by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“Ukraine finally says “thank you” to her and pays tribute to her in accordance with her contribution and merits, officially and forever recognizes that she is our great Ukrainian artist. A great Ukrainian woman. Maria Prymachenko is a national legend of Ukrainian painting,” said the President.
The award had also been given to 9 more Ukrainians. Among them, heroes of the war and football player Andriy Shevchenko.
The National Legend award was founded in 2021. It is given for merits in the formation of independent Ukraine, contribution to the development of the national economy, science, education, culture, art, sports, healthcare and active charitable and social activities.
