Ukraine’s team wins medal standings at European Throwing Cup and sets national record

Ukraine topped the medal table at the European Throwing Cup in Leiria, Portugal. It showed the best result, winning four gold and one silver medal.

In 2023, the athletes surpassed the achievements of 2007, when Ukraine won three gold medals.

Ukrainian athletes received five individual awards at this year’s tournament in Portugal. The first “gold” at the European Cup was brought to Ukraine by Mykhailo Kokhan, who won the hammer throw competition with a youth record of the season.

After Kokhan’s award, the Ukrainian national team won the javelin throw, shot put and hammer throw among youth. Ukrainian athletes won another “silver” in the discus throw among youth.
