Ukrainian activist Oleksandra Matviichuk received ‘Alternative Nobel’

Oleksandra Matviichuk and the Center for Civil Liberties that she heads were honored with the Right Livelihood Award — known as the “Alternative Nobel.”
Right Livelihood’s jury said that Matviichuk and her organization were receiving the award “for building sustainable democratic institutions in Ukraine and modeling a path to international accountability for war crimes.”
“This Award is a gesture of support for our struggle in general, and for my work, in particular,” Matviichuk said.
Oleksandra is the first laureate of this award in Ukraine.
