Ukrainian air defense shot down 47 of the 55 missiles Russian forces fired at Ukraine on the morning of Jan. 26, 2022, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi reports.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russian troops fired 55 air and sea-based missiles by Tu-95, Su-35 and MiG-31K aircraft as well as ships from the Black Sea water area.

Twenty of the incoming missiles were shot down around the area of the capital Kyiv, Zaluzhnyi added. “The goal of the Russians remains unchanged: psychological pressure on Ukrainians and the destruction of critical infrastructure,” he wrote. “But we cannot be broken!”
