Ukrainian athlete Maryna Beh-Romanchuk won the gold medal of the 2022 European Athletics Championships in the triple jump

On the evening of August 19, Maryna Beh-Romanchuk became the European champion in the triple jump.
On the fourth final day, in the first jump, she showed a result of 14.81 meters – a new record of the season in Europe. After that, the Ukrainian track and field athlete led throughout the final. And in the fifth jump, she broke the season record for the second time, jumping over 15 meters – 15.02 m.
“Of course, I understood that I could touch this 15-meter mark. That was the main goal. I will say frankly: I did not have a task [to win] a medal or anything else – I wanted a result that would ultimately satisfy me and bring some positive,” comments Maryna Ben-Romachuk to Suspilne news.
