Ukrainian boarder guard became the world champion in kickboxing

Ukrainian border guard Sofia Podvalna won gold at the ISKA World Kickboxing Championship held in Turkey. She dedicated her victory to her brother Vladyslav Nedilko — he was killed in the battle near Lysychansk in the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion.

“I wanted not only to win the prize but also to make sure that in such a difficult time for our country, the national anthem of Ukraine sounded on the international arena, and the Ukrainian flag was raised on the highest pedestal,” Sofia said.

At the ISKA World Kickboxing Championship, Ukraine won 111 medals in different age categories (36 gold, 34 silver, and 41 bronze).
