Ukrainian city of Lviv turns 767 years old

The western Ukrainian city of Lviv turns 767 years old on May 6, 2023. Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyy said that the city council refused to hold large-scale celebrations due to Russia’s full-scale war.

Instead, Lviv residents express their gratitude to the Ukrainian defenders. The flags of all military and defense structures of Ukraine are unfurled on the city’s main square.

Lviv is situated at the crossing of the two ancient profitable trade routes. The city developed and flourished rapidly and became one of the main trade centers in medieval Europe. Over time, Lviv turned not only into an architectural gem but also into a modern capital of scientific, spiritual, and artistic life in Ukraine.
