Ukrainian consulates and embassies in at least six countries received threats and ‘bloody packages’

After the terrorist attack on the Ukrainian Embassy in Spain, the embassies in Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Croatia, and Italy, the general consulates in Naples and Krakow, and the consulate in Brno received ‘bloody packages.’ The packages contained animal eyes, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said in a statement. “The packages themselves were soaked in a liquid of a characteristic color and had a corresponding smell. We study the meaning of this message,” the statement reads.

“We have reason to believe that a well-planned campaign of terror and intimidation of Ukrainian embassies and consulates is taking place. Not being able to stop Ukraine on the diplomatic front, they are trying to intimidate us. However, I can immediately say that these attempts are useless. We will continue to work effectively for the victory of Ukraine,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.

Earlier, a letter bomb exploded at Ukraine’s Embassy in Madrid, and another was detected at the US Embassy. Such devices have also been sent to the Prime Minister of Spain, the Spanish Ministry of Defense, an arms company making rocket launchers donated to Kyiv, and a military airbase near the Spanish capital.

Spanish defense minister said that letter bombs would not change the decision to help Ukraine.
