Ukrainian football referee is being held captive by the Russian invaders
Former Premier League referee Oleksandr Shamych informed that Ukrainian referee Dmytro Kubryak is being held captive by occupiers in Mariupol.
Football referee and surgeon Dmytro Kubryak was saving the lives of the Ukrainian defenders in Mariupol, where he was taken as a prisoner of war. Dmytro Kubryak was majoring in a surgeon. Judging football matches became his second profession. Since the beginning of Russian military aggression, Dmytro has been rescuing wounded Ukrainian soldiers at the Dnipro military hospital.
Despite the shelling and constant bombing of Mariupol, Dmytro and his colleagues went to rescue the wounded defenders of Ukraine in the besieged city. There he was captured by the Russian invaders.
His wife, Natalia, said Dmytro had been in captivity since April 12, 2022. She appealed to all Ukrainians to help with her husband’s release. “The doctor’s place is in the operating room, not in the colony! Help me return the father to his son, and a professional back to Ukraine,” Natalia wrote.
