Ukrainian girl’s artwork decorates a rocket headed for Jupiter
The European Space Agency has successfully launched its mission to Jupiter — the biggest planet in the Solar System. The rocket, by the way, is decorated with a drawing of a Ukrainian 8-year-old girl — Yaryna Zakaliuzna!
Two years ago, Yaryna’s drawing won the Juice Up Your Rocket! Art competition among 2,600 works sent by children from 63 countries. As a result, the jury gave preference to the drawing of a girl from Zhytomyr. JUICE engineer Manuela Baroni praised the “cute, cheerful and genuine” artwork which is displayed on the nose of the rocket, Sky News reports.
Currently, one of the girl’s biggest dreams is to wait for the completion of the flight, which will last until 2031, and wait for it to arrive on Earth on the occasion of her 18th birthday.
