Ukrainian Muslims observe the holy month of Ramadan

Ukrainian Muslims observe the holy month of Ramadan, and France 24 tells their story. They observe Ramadan in the full-scale war-ridden country for a second year. Said Ismagilov, formerly one of Ukraine’s Islamic spiritual leaders, who is now combat medic of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said he still observes the Ramadan fasting rules. He also tries to fit in a couple of hours of praying at night. “It’s hard for those Muslims who have to stay in the trenches. They are cold and there is a lot of water in the trenches as it often rains… It’s hard to be a Muslim there,” he said.
