Ukrainian polar explorers in Antarctica showed photos of seals named after Peace and Dream

Ukrainian polar explorers from the National Antarctic Scientific Center of Ukraine showed new photos of the baby seals Myrko (named after ‘peace’ in Ukrainian) and Mriya (named after the world’s largest Ukrainian-made aircraft destroyed by Russia; ‘mriya’ also means ‘dream’). Their names were chosen by Ukrainians in social networks.

According to the National Antarctic Scientific Center of Ukraine, the seals have already turned one month old; they have grown up and are very active. Polar explorers observe the baby seals and their mother, who sometimes leaves them alone while she dives into the ocean. They live on the island closest to the Ukrainian station, so the observations do not harm the animals.
