Ukrainian sailor from Yany Kapu tugboat captured by Russians for the second time

Yevhenii Semydotskyi from Svatovo has once again been captured by the Russians. For the first time, he was taken captive in November 2018.

Semydotskyi was one of the Ukrainian crew members of the tugboat Yany Kapu, seized near the Kerch Strait by Russian security forces in November 2018.

The 24 captured Ukrainians were charged under the Russian Criminal Code Article 322, Part 3 (illegal border crossing). They spent ten months in a Russian pre-trial detention center.

On September 7, 2019, the sailors were released as a part of an exchange of prisoners and returned to Ukraine.
