Ukrainian women cook in stoves on the ruins of their homes destroyed by Russians

A grandmother from the village of Horenka in the Kyiv region baked Easter cakes in a ruined house that survived the Russian shelling.

“Russian shelling destroyed part of the house, kitchen, garage, and barn. And the frame of the stove remained. I looked… I dreamed so much. Then I glued this stove together, stoked it, watched where the smoke went through the cracks, then covered it with bricks and covered it with clay and tried to bake in it! I managed to bake small Easter cakes and pies,” she commented.

Another example is a woman cooking borscht on a stove leftover from the demolition of a house.

“The house was destroyed, the stove survived. A woman prepares borsch there. I don’t even know what to say. Ukrainians are people of incredible strength. We are unique. And yes, we will keep it when Ukraine wins. Our wonderful nation will build a wonderful country. We are and will be an inspiration and a force for ourselves and an example for the world,” famous Ukrainian chef and restaurateur Yevhen Klopotenko said.
