It was an absolute surprise for me because I do not belong to world-famous literature. And suddenly, such an award. I really love France. I also have poems about France,” said Lina Kostenko during the award ceremony.

Lina Kostenko is a famous Ukrainian poet, writer, and former Soviet dissident, whose poems have been inspiring Ukrainians for decades.
