The couple kicked off the campaign on March 4, 2022, with a $3 m donation of their own. The actors have already raised $20 million in less than a week. The goal of this campaign is $30 m. The couple said 56,000 have already donated money for the needs of Ukraine.

Kunis, who was born in Chernivtsi in southwestern Ukraine, said in a statement on GoFundMe.com: “I am a proud Ukrainian. While my family came to the United States in 1991, I was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, in 1983. Ukrainians are proud and brave people who deserve our help in their time of need. This unjust attack on Ukraine and humanity at large is devastating, and the Ukrainian people need our support.”
