UN General Assembly adopts resolution calling for Russia to pay reparations to Ukraine
On November 14, 2022, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution that calls for Russia to pay war reparations to Ukraine.
Votes in favor of the resolution — 94 countries, against — 14 and abstained — 73.
The General Assembly recognizes that Russia must be held to account for any violations of international law in or against Ukraine, and it must bear the legal consequences of all of its internationally wrongful acts, including making reparation for the injury, including any damage, caused by such acts.
