Up to 30% of infrastructure destroyed in Ukraine due to the Russian invasion

According to the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov, Mariupol, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Severodonetsk, and Lysychansk suffered the most from the actions of the Russian invaders. 320,000 Ukrainians lost their houses, said Kubrakov in an interview with Le Monde.

The degree of destruction in Ukraine is 20-30% of all facilities in the country. These are bridges, roads, ports, railways, airports, etc. In addition, the total amount of damage caused to the Ukrainian economy by the destruction of residential and non-residential buildings, as well as infrastructure, amounted to $105.5 billion.

Oleksandr Kubrakov said that recovery has begun in some of the liberated regions of Ukraine, but due to a lack of resources, this cannot happen fast. Now the Ukrainian authorities are trying to restore the most important objects.

Recall that on June 3, 2022, expert Oleksandr Parashchii told in an interview with Focus that economic recovery in Ukraine from the consequences of the Russian invasion would take 5-6 years. This is due to the heavy losses that the Ukrainian economy has suffered due to the war with Russia.
