Ukrainian polar explorers from the Ukrainian Antarctic Akademik Vernadsky station joined the international climate march. “Wars contribute to global warming. Help us stop the Russians, save the climate and Antarctica,” was the slogan chosen by Ukrainian polar explorers.
They also took a photo against the background of the station to demonstrate the unusually warm weather for Antarctica. Polar explorers noted that the victory over the Russian invaders will allow the world community to return to normal life and return to the problem of global warming.
“The Antarctic Peninsula is the fastest warming region, with average temperatures rising by almost 3°C over the past 50 years. But currently, due to the aggressive policy of states such as the Russian Federation, the priority is to increase the defense capabilities of countries instead of solving environmental problems,” the message says.
