We demand that UNSC immediately take measures to demilitarize the Exclusion Zone around the Chornobyl NPP

The Ukrainian authorities demand that the members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) immediately take measures to demilitarize the Exclusion Zone around the Chornobyl nuclear power plant (NPP).

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk has said at a briefing on March 30, 2022: “We demand that the UN Security Council immediately take measures to demilitarize the Exclusion Zone of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant and introduce a special UN mission there to eliminate the risk of a repetition of the Chornobyl nuclear disaster as a result of the actions of the Russian occupation troops.”
