“We stand with you, period” Joe Biden appealed to Ukrainians during his speech in Warsaw
US President Joe Biden said in Warsaw on March 26 that Putin’s war in Ukraine has already become a strategic failure for Russia, and the United States and the West will continue to stand with the people of Ukraine.
“My message to the people of Ukraine is a message I delivered today to Ukraine’s foreign minister and defense minister, who I believe are here tonight: We stand with you. Period,” he said.
Biden stressed that Putin miscalculated when he thought that the Ukrainian people would not offer any resistance. Russian troops were met with brave and stiff resistance from the Ukrainians, and Russia’s brutal tactics have strengthened the resolve, Biden said.
He also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin should no longer be the leader of his country: “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.”
