“We value every life. We will do everything to save those who are in Russian captivity”
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his night video address that Ukraine would continue to do everything to return Ukrainian prisoners of war from Russian captivity. He greeted the news of the liberation of Ukrainian defenders and their families.
“Today, we have 215 pieces of good news. It is a clear victory for our country and all of our society. And most importantly, for the 215 families who can see their loved ones,” he said.
According to Zelenskyy, negotiations on the exchange of the Mariupol defense commanders were the most difficult because they were expected to receive the most severe punishment in Russia.
“We remember all of our people, and we are trying to return every Ukrainian. This is the meaning of Ukraine, this is our essence, and this is what makes us different from the enemy,” the President of Ukraine stressed.
