What happens in Ukraine is a direct consequence of the illegitimate, unjustified, and unprovoked aggression by Russia which is killing Ukrainian civilians

The Russian army is the one that is attacking civilians, and the Ukrainian military is trying to protect them, European Commission Lead Spokesperson Peter Stano said during the briefing, commenting on the latest Amnesty International report, which was widely criticized.
“What happens in Ukraine is a direct consequence of the illegitimate, unjustified, and unprovoked aggression by Russia, which is killing Ukrainian civilians, civilian infrastructure, making targets from people, pensioners, women, children, hospitals, train stations. Russia is attacking civilian targets,” said Stano.
“The Ukrainian army is fighting this aggression and is trying to protect the civilian population. In a situation like this, of course, you have to have defensive military equipment also in areas that are under attack, which are populated by civilians. This is just another example of how inhuman and illegitimate the Russian military aggression against Ukraine is,” Stano emphasized.
