“While the war is going on, I want to stay in Ukraine and defend it” Biathlete Artem Pryma refused to leave Ukraine for trainings, stayed to fight in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Ukrainian biathlete Artem Pryma serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He has the opportunity to go abroad to start preparing for the new season in May, 2022 despite that he decided to stay in Ukraine.

“There were talks about possible permits to travel abroad. But I think while the war is going on, since I am a contractor of the Armed Forces, I want to stay in Ukraine and defend it. God willing, the war ends with our victory, then we can think about preparing for the new season,” Pryma said in an interview with Kamp-sport.

The biathlete stressed he had rethought the values because of the full-scale invasion. Sport is not top priority anymore.
