Within 24 exchanges, 808 prisoners were freed from Russian captivity

As of October 2, 2022, Ukraine exchanged 808 prisoners from Russian captivity — Hanna Maliar, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, made this announcement via Telegram.

“24 captive exchanges have already taken place as of today (October 2), and 808 people have been freed from captivity,” according to Maliar.

She recalled that the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, which functions on the foundation of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and unites more than ten state institutions and organizations, was established by the Cabinet of Ministers at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.
