World Bank mobilizes an emergency financing package of over $700 million to help with critical services to Ukrainians

The World Bank approved a FREE Ukraine package (Financing of Recovery from Economic Emergency in Ukraine) for $489 million. It’s supplemented with grant financing of $134 million from UK, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, and Iceland and parallel financing of $100 million from Japan. The total support in amount of $723 million will help the government provide critical services to Ukrainian people, including wages for hospital workers, pensions for the elderly, and social programs for the vulnerable.
