“You cannot take a day off from war. Everyone now in Ukraine has to risk their lives every day. There is nothing off limits for Russia”
First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska delivered a special address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. For the first time in the forum’s history, the wife of the state leader spoke at it, Ukraine’s Presidential Office reports.
Since Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine is responsible for inflation and expanding food insecurity in developing nations, Zelenska called it “an insult to mankind and human nature to have mass starvation.”
“Peace in our understanding is not equal to a truce. For our people who are now scattered around the world to be able to return home. For fathers, sons, and daughters to return from the front. For the families that were separated by the war to reunite. Unity is what brings peace,” the First Lady said in the address.
Zelenska called on the world to first and foremost recognize the human suffering that is ongoing across Ukraine.
