Zelenskyy’s vyshyvanka was auctioned off for $100,000 in the U.S.

An embroidered shirt — vyshyvanka — worn by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Ukraine’s Vyshyvanka Day, May 19, 2022, has been sold for $100,000 at a charity auction in the U.S. capital, the Voice of America reported.
The buyer of the presidential embroidered shirt is the law firm Asters USA. The auction took place as part of the presentation of the United24 program at the Ukrainian House in Washington.
“The United States is the first country to make an official presentation of the United 24 platform. It is symbolic that this presentation is taking place on the 100th day of the Russian war against Ukraine,” said Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Oksana Markarova.
The report said that the T-shirts signed by Ukrainian footballers Artem Dovbyk and Andriy Yarmolenko, which they wore during Ukraine’s winning match against Scotland on June 1, 2022, had also been sold at the charity auction. A well-known ceramic jug in the shape of a rooster, similar to the one that was preserved intact on a kitchen shelf of a badly bombed building in Borodianka, Kyiv region, was auctioned off.
